‘This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of John Norris of Ballasalley [Ballasalla], who departed this life the 6th of April 1734, he being sick and weak in body, but of perfect memory. First he committed his soul to Almighty God that gave it and his body to Christian burial. Item, he left his son Thomas Norris to pay his brother William Norris 10 shillings because there would be no strife betwixt them. Lastly, he nominated and appointed his loving son Thomas sole executor of all the rest of his good moveable and unmoveable whatsoever.
