Archdeacon Will 1734 #11 Malew of John Gelling of Malew:

"KK Malew" This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of John Gellin of KK Malew, who being weak in body but of sound perfect memory at the making hereof, first he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. He bequeathed to his son Nicholas half the crop of corn and his half of all the husbandry gears with half the horses excepting a colt which he leaves to his son Edward. He bequeathed to his son Edward his part of the Intack which adjoins to Ballyvarcheen[?], and desired that his loving wife might join in doing the same. He bequeathed that his Executrix would give his son Edward a cow and a blanket. He bequeathed that his son Nicholas was to give his son Edward one bowl of barley at allhollantide next. He bequeathed to his daughter Catherine two sheep and begged his loving wife would be so kind as to take care and provide for her. Lastly, he constituted and appointed his loving wife sole Executrix of all the rest of his goods moveable and unmoveable whatsoever. To all and every article as requested, I do give my consent. Eliz: Gellin m mark X. Witness present: Jony McNameer my mark X. This will is accepted by consent of Partys upon these terms, vizt., that the testator’s daughter Cath: besides the legacies left her, is to receive form her mother the sum of twenty shillings, from her brother Nicholas fourty shillings, & from her brother Edward the sum of twenty shillings. Whereupon the widow is sworn Executrix in form of Law, and gave pledges her son Nicholas Gelling and Mark Cain of Castletown.
