Archideaconal Will 1722 #24, Andreas, of John Teare

This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of JOHN TEAR (Smeal) who departed this life the 10th March 1721/2, and of perfect mind & memory at the making of.
First, He commended his Soul to God, & his Body to Christian Burial.
Item, He left to his DAUGHTER AVERICK TEAR ten shillings. And to his SON SIMON TEAR ten shillings, also, in Legacy.
Item, He left to his SON PHILIP TEAR the bed, bolster, & bed cloathes that he lay on, as they were at that time; with his part of the herring netts, & all things belonging to them, and a small barrell, ladder, & oar; to whom he also left a mare & an heifer to pay & discharge his debts.
Item, He left his DAUGHTER NELLY TEAR a fledge & blanket & a pewter dish.
Item, He left to his two GRANDCHILDREN JONY & ISABEL COWLE a sheep betwixt them;
And another sheep to his DAUGHTER ALICE, if there was any remaining.
He left to his GRAND-DAUGHTER BESSY TEAR an hive of bees, to be given to her next Laminas.
Item, He declared that his SON DANIEL TEAR owed him for a swine & horse unpaid; which he left to his said SON, if he wou'd not prosecute & sue for the Croft call'd Crett[?Croit] y Guilley Bane; otherwise he was to pay ye sd mony to his Execrs.
Item, He left to his SON PHILIP TEAR his russet coat & shoes; And the rest of his cloathes betwixt SIMON & PHILIP HIS aforesd SONS.
Item, He delcared that the goods that were named & did belong to each of his children the same shud be their own, without any trouble & division.
Lastly, He constituted ordained & appointed his two CHILDREN PHILIP & NELLY TEAR his true & lawful Execrs of all the rest of his goods novable & immovable.
And further left to his SON PHILIP TEAR his part of the above Croft called Crett y Guilley Bane. And declared that his SON DANIEL TEAR the Heir was fully paid and satisfy'd in every thing he promised him by marriage contract. To ye Witnesses of this will six pence each. Witnesses: Philip Joughin, John Sayle, jurati.

THE TWO EXECRS SWORN in form of Law. Probatum est & Solvit 1s. Pledges according to Law are John Sayle Senr & John Sayle junr."
