Archdeacon Will 1721 #32, Maughold, of Robert Christian (clerk) of Maughold, died 3 April 1721:

"This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of Robt: Christian of the parish of KK Maughold who departed this life the third day of April ano: 1721. Imprimis, being good and perfect memory he committed his soul of God and his body to Christian burial in the grave of his Father William Christian. Item, he bequeathed to his well beloved wife Cathrine Christian als Allen his part of the best riding horse. Item, he bequeathed to his son in law John Oats and his daughter Jane his wife the sum of twenty shillings legacy; and to their four children two shillings six pence each. Item, he bequeathed to his daughter Isabel Christian a thorrow furnished feather bed to be taken out of the whole goods, before dividend, to which her mother gave consent. Item, and he did constitute and appoint his only son John Christian his whole and sole Executor of all the remaining part of his goods and chattels of what nature soever; provided he did or would pay to his above sister Isabel Christian the full sum of eighteen pounds, together with his other legacies before mentioned. Witnesses: Henry Allen, William Cottier, John Allen.

The Executor sworn in form of Law. Mr. Henry Allen & Mr. John Allen are pledges."
