Archdeacon Will 1715 #9, Malew, of Thomas Maddrell of Grenaby:

"Malew: In the name of God, amen. The 13 day of April in the year of our Lord God 1715, I Thomas Maddrill of Grenaby of the parish of KK Malew being very sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all me once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it, and for my body, I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner, and as touching such worldly goods and estate, I give and bequeath and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. Item, I bequeath unto my youngest son Thomas Maddril all my sheep, cloths, and a feather bed and that his wife to have the use of the above said feather bed while she live, then the said above Thomas to have the whole bed to himself. Item, I bequeath unto my loving son in law Thomas Goane [Gawne]and my youngest son Thomas with the consent of my wife Jane all my right and title to the estate that is to say a quarter during her life. Item, I bequeath to my eldest son William a ladder and the use of the ladder is to be betwixt them while his mother liveth. Item, bequeath and ordain the above said Tomas Maddrill and Thomas Goane [Gawne] to be my whole Executors. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set our hands and marks the day and year above written. The Executors sworn in Court in form of Law.

And the wife hath given consent to the same.
