Archdeacon Will 1695/6 #16, Patrick, of William Cosnahan of Ballamore

"This is affirmed to be the last will and testament of WILL: CUSNAHAN who was sick in body but of perfect memory. First, he committed his soul to God and his body to Christian burial. Item, he left to his loving WIFE his part of the riding horse. Item, to the minister a mutton. Item, he left to his TWO DAUGHTERS three pounds apiece, and a bowl of principal corn to each of them when they came to age. Item, he appointed that if one of the daughter's should depart this life before she came to age, that the surviving daughter should have the legacy or portion of the other, and if both of them died before they came to lawful years, then his wife should have 3 pounds of this portion and the remainder to his SON AND HEIR, and if his son and heir and all his children died that none of them came to lawful years or had no issue to inherit his estate, then all that was left to his said SON & DAUGHTERS should fall and become due to his wife and she to give 3 pounds to his BROTHER THOMAS CUSNAHAN'S CHILDREN equally betwixt them. Lastly, he constituted and appointed his SON AND HEIR JOHN CUSNAHAN sole Executor of all the rest of his goods moveable and unmoveable whatsoever, and appointed his BROTHER THOMAS overseer of his children, and he work the lands for the heir till he came to age and also desired CAESAR WATLEWORTH to be another overseer in regard he was the godfather to the said heir. Witnesses: Caesar Watleworth, John Creer, John Woods.

THE UNCLES OF THE HEIR TOGETHER WITH THE MOTHER are sworn in Cout according to Law. The Inventory next Court.

NOVEMBER THE 26TH 1696: CHARLES GARRET enters his claim against the Executor or WILL: COSNAHAN for six shillings and 6 pence and quarter of a steer, due as will be made to appear and craves &c.

FEBRUARY 12TH 1696/7: MRS. ANN QUAIL ENTERS against the said Executors for 10 shilling 9 pence."
