Archdeacon Wills 1695,

Presentment dated 7 Feb 1695/6, Mrs. Margt Halsall als xxx, widow of Henry Halsall, against estate of Mrs. Ellinor Heywood, relict of Governor Robert Heywood:

"At a Court held in Castletown February 7th 1695, between Mrs. Margaret Halsall als xxx & Mrs. Ellinor Heywood als xxx: Whereas Mrs MARGT HALSALL the relict of xxx HALSALL late of Castletown within the Isle of Man xxxx Ecclesiastical Court of the said Isle, lawfully proved that Mrs. ELLIN HEYWOOD THE RELICT OF ROBT HEYWOOD Esqr., late Governor, was justly indebted unto her at the time of her death the entire sum of three pounds and eleven pence; and for as much of the goods, chattels, effects and credits, belonging to the said MRS. ELLIN HEYWOOD in this Isle are taken and distributed to pay and discharge the debts contracted by her foresaid HUSBAND in his life time, so that there are not goods and effects to answer the debts contracted by the said Mrs. HEYWOOD since her said husband departed this life: And there being some credits and effects due to the said Mrs. HEYWOOD in the Kingdom of England as this Court is credibly informed. It is therefore hereby ordered that the said Mrs. HALSALL shall and may demand and receive from the hands of such person or persons in whose hands there are any credits or effects remaining in the Kingdom of England, the aforesaid sum three pounds and eleven pence in full of all claims debts and demands that she the said Mrs. HALSALL can make against the said Mrs. HEYWOOD, her Executors or Administrators and for which this with the said Mrs HALSALL's acquittance shall be sufficient discharge according to the Law of this Isel.
