Archdeacon Will 1679/80 #2, Onchan, of Ann Oates als Christian, made 7 February 1679/80:

"KK Conchan the 7th of February 1679/80: In ye name of God, Amen. The last will and testament of Ann Oats als Christian. First she committed her soul to Almightie God and her body to Christian burial, vizt., to be buried in the Chauncell of KK Conchan. Item, she left to ye poor a firlet of meal and ye rest at ye discretion of her husband and Executors. Item, she left to her son James Oats one pound ten shillings sterling and one young mare. Item, she left to her granddaughter Ann Oats daughter of Ja: six young sheep. Item, she left to her dear husband Joh:Oats all her part of ye boat and riding horse and all her part of ye little cellar in Duglas, with all what goods is within it. Item, she left to her son and heir John Oats all her part of ye cupboard, one carpet xxxx table to her daughter in law Mari Oats als Cotter. Item, she left to her grandson Jo:Oats all her part of the two great chests in ye bulten[?]. Item, she left to Sir Tho:Thwaites one mutton. Item, she constituted and ordained her two daughters viz., Ann and Issable Oats Executors of all the rest of her goods moveable and unmoveable of what kind and nature soever and their father John Oates is to have ye use of ye goods aforesaid till the Executors be capable to take their own use of ye goods left, and unless they marry with their father’s consent. I leave to my husband Jo:Oats aforesaid the sum of 4 pounds sterling out of thexx part of goods. Item, to Ja:Oats one pewter flagan and a barrel. Item, she left her husband and her two sons viz., John and James Oats overseers and guardians of the two daughters aforesaid till they be capable too receive their own. Item, she left to Bahie Skillicorn one old blanket. Item, to Jony Lace xxx xxxxx of waistcoat. Item, to Bahie Cotter an old petticoat. Testes: Tho:Thwaites, Jo:Bell, jurati.

The husband sworn. The Executors at years are sworn in Court. The goods in the husband’s hands and hath given pledges for ye forthcoming of the same secunde forman legis: James Oats & Jon:Christian cum consent Executrices. Probated et Solvit 11 pence."
