Archdeacon Will 1651 #7 German of Captain Thomas Tunman:

"In nominee Dei, Amen. I Tho: Tunman yeoman of ye parish of KK German, sicke in body but whole in minde and perfect memory praised bee God for the same make this my last will in manner following.
Imprimis, I commit my soule to God and my body to bee buried in St Peters Church in Peel towne.
Item, to ye poore a boule of corne or meale. Item, to my heir either male or female 4 oxen, choice horse and maire, and all gears belonging to husbandry; his share of sheep and goates and a couple of cowes, besides his part of ye househould goods moveable and unmoveable, and a coobert[cupboard], he returning to ye rest of ye children 20s debtless with ye consent of my wife ye heir is to enjoy ye land sown, onely my wife is to keepe it in her own custody if shee bee able until ye heir come to 20 yeares of age.
Item, I leave to my wife a choice cow in a legace.
Item, I leave unto Sir William Cosnahan a choice mutton in Lammell.
Item, I leave Sir John Crellin an ewe and lambe at McSaile.
Item, I leave an ewe and lambe to my godsonne John Marshiall at McSailes.
Item, I leave to ye rest of my sister Margrets children a lambe apiece out of Lammell xxxx a xxxxxx John Craine a lambe xxxxxx.
Item, after ye decease of my father Silvester my children is to have half ye tithe of James Caine my wife returning to my father’s daughter Anne a cow of seven years old.
Item, I appoint overseers to my children: Tho: Caine, Tho: Crain[?] senior, Michael Crosse, and John Leese.
Item, I constitute and ordain ye rest of my children (except ye heir) Executors of all the rest of my goods moveable and unmoveable and overseers xxxxxxxx[edge of page crumbled the last line].

Tho: Locke January 10th. I doe acknowledge myselfe to be indebted unto Margret Corras for the sum of twenty five shillings the said money to be truly paid unto the said Margret or her assigns against all hallow day wch will be in the year of our Lord 1651. March 11th 1651: Tho: Gell claymeth of ye execrs in the behalfe of Coony 33s 4d. Joh: Cowles claymeth 26s. Jo: Gell claymeth 8s. Margt Corrin claymeth 23s as appearth by especially. By Ecclesiastical Power: Whereas a jury of enquiry was empanelled betwixt Tho: Crane & his wife and Jo: Barrey in ye behalfe of ye executors of Capt: Tudman, oath hath before us taken. Jo: Cowne sweareth that Ratcliffe Tudman sold a parcel of land called Lammell & had in the sayd sale the consent of his mother & father in law Tho: Crane & his grandfather Silvester Tudman the wch land was sold for ye sum of seven[?] pounds & this he gives also under his hand this 12th July 1669.

Jo: Cowne, C. Patrick Quirke sweareth That Capt: Tudman’s wife before she married to Tho: Crane sold a parcel of land to Jo: ---ingh[?] called Ballacick[?] for ye sum of thirteen pounds seventeen shillings six pence & this he also gives under his hand the day & year above written. Patr: Quirke.

William Crelling also sweareth That Capt: Tudman’s wife sold to him halfe of a mill after ye death of her husband & before she married Tho: Crane for ye sum of thirty five shillings four pence & this on oath he certifies as witness his hand the day & hear above written.

Willm Crelling. Ratliff Tubman sweareth and xxxx sath that ther was left out of his father Inventory one bull one oxe and calfe and one oxe that his mother sould before the goods were praised and that Ballacronk was left to pay the debts and further said not. Rattclife Tubman his marke X.

Jane Craine als Thomson sworn and saith that Ballacronk was left to pay the deats and for Lamal and the mill was not left for the same; and that shee received 25s for a tulan[?] in the town from Will: Gell and one oxe that shee sould to Tho: Harrison for 26s and further saith not. Jaine Craine als Thonsan her marke =. [on the back of the previous piece of paper regarding Radcliffe Taubman’s and Jane Craine als Thompson’s oaths:] Record this by order and returne a coppie of it. We whose names are writen below sweren a jory betwixt Jo: Barry and Tho: Craine about the e---: of Capt: Tho: Tubman we deliner[?] this to be our answer and to be added to the Invintory of the same Capt Tubman excepting Ballacronke which is within sweren for to pay the deats. Feb ye 27th 1669: In xxx and of ye worshipful Governors order to us for finding out any goods that was left out of Capt Tudman’s Inventory for perfecting ye same; wee therefore xxxxx 14 days to ye jury impaneled, by virtue of their oaths to take what proofs can be produced to prove what debts his wife did pay, and what ye xxx: may cleerly amount to ye children and all within ye 14 days subpoena xx shilling apiece.
