In memory of John Thomas, son of Thomas and Ann Cain of Marown, who died 16 Sept 1884, aged 26 years.

In memory of Thomas Cain, of this parish, who departed this life 26 Aug 1868, aged 74 years. Catherine Cain, wife of the above (Thomas Cain) who departed this life 26 Aug 1868, aged 74 years.

In loving memory of James Moore, formerly of this parish, who died at Douglas, 28 Apr 1876, aged 37 years. William (Willie) Moore, second son of the above (James Moore) who died at Douglas, 15 May 1907, aged 34 years.

In memory of Robert Shimmin, who died 27 March 1864, aged 43.

In memory of Philip Quayle, of Foxdale, who died 21 Feb 1871, aged 66 years. Jane, the beloved wife of the above Philip Quayle, who died 27 Sept 1873, aged 72 years.

In memory of Walter Wallace, who died 5 July 1863, aged 36 years. Also of three children of the above named Walter Wallace. Walter William, died 2 Feb 1858, aged 6 weeks. Walter William died 20 July 1859, aged 5 months. Catherine Olive Wilson, died 10 March 1863, aged 9 months.

In memory of Jonas Brocklehurst, who died in Ballasalla, Kirk Marown, 15 Aug, and interred here 18 Aug 1851, aged 50 years.

In memory of Doc. James T. Black, interred here on the 28 Dec 1844, aged 42 years. Doc. Black was a native of Greenock.

In Memory of David Cowan Esquire, a native of Fifeshire and late Lieutenant of H.M. 93rd, who resided in St Mark’s parsonage house upwards of 23 years and was interred here on the 21 July 1859, aged 66 years.

 

 

In memory of Elizabeth, wife of the Revd J.T. Clarke, Chaplain of St Mark’s, and dau of John Clucas, Esquire of Mary Voar and Balna Cregga in the parish of Santan, died 2 Sept 1862, aged 66 years. John Thomas Clarke, MD, MRCS, eldest son of the Revd J.T. Clarke and of the aforesaid Elizabeth Clarke, sometime assistant surgeon in H.M. Army, died 9 July 1862, aged 38 years. Anne Jane Clarke, daughter of the Revd J.T. Clarke, and of the aforesaid, Elizabeth Clarke, died 6 Nove 1907, aged 73 years.

In loving memory of Robert Quine, of Close-clark, who died 29 March 1899, aged 57 years. Emily, daughter of the above Robert Quine, who died 1 January 1877, aged 1 year.

John Quine, who died 14 June 1876, aged 81 years. Also of Ann, wife of the above named John Quine, who died 25 Oct 1871, aged 62 years.

In affectionate remembrance of William Benjamin, son of John and Jane Quine, who departed this life 22 February 1872, aged 4 years, 8 months.

Sacred to the memory of Sophia Patience, beloved wife of William Callister, draper, Douglas, who departed this life 13 June 1896, aged 45 years. Samuel Douglas, son of the above William Callister, died 23 March 1884, aged 4 weeks. Leonard, son of the above William Callister, died 1 Aug 1894, aged 5 weeks. William Callister, husband of the above Sophia Patience, who died 25 March 1905, aged 54 years.

In memory Eleanor Ann, the beloved wife of James Matthias Shimmin, who departed this life 12 June 1876, aged 28 years. In loving memory of Elizabeth, wife of the above named James M Shimmin, who departed this life 13 January 1899, aged 55 years.

In affectionate remembrance of William Shimmin of Renshent, who departed this life 23 Nov 1872, aged 72 years. In memory of Margret, wife of the above William Shimmin, who departed this life at Ballavarisk, Arbory, 13 Oct 1883, in the 81st year of her age.

In memory of Elizabeth, wife of Colonel James Rann, of Laywood in Warwickshire, who died on the 18th Nov 1809, aged 52 years. In the memory of the foresaid James Rann, who died on the 31 July 1813, aged 57 years.

Here lie the bodies of James and Edward, sons of John and Ellinor Cain, of Renshent. Both born 30 May 1835. James died 24 June 1835, and Edward died 3 May 1836. Here lieth the body of Ellinor Cain, alias Fargher, wife of John Cain and mother of the above children, James & Edward, who departed this life 30 Jan 1837, aged 45 years.

Sacred to the memory of Eliza Cain, daughter of John & Ann Cain, of Renshent, Malew, who departed this life on the 6 July 1843, Aged 9 months. In memory of Ann Cain, otherwise Cowin, wife of John Cain & mother of the above Eliza Cain, who departed this life the 1 April 1865, aged 50 years.

In memory of John Cain of Renshent, who departed this life on the 10 Sept 1866, in the 83rd year of his age.

Sacred to the memory of Joseph Hampton of Ballagrangey, who departed this life on the 29 April 1826, aged 54 years. He was for sometime a preacher of the Gospel in this Island.

William Callister, Esquire, late of Thornhill Lezayre and Ballavarnie or Ballavamie, St Mark, Malew’s, deceased. Bequeath 1872 to the chaplain & wardens of St Mark,’s and their successors for ever, £200 for the sole benefit of the poor of the district of St Mark’s alone.

In memory of Thomas Howard Gill, Md., who fell asleep at Ponbridge Vicarage, 5 June 1894, aged 58 years, Chaplain at St Mark’s 1863 - 1865.

 

In memory of the Revd John Thomas Clarke, for 36 years chaplain of St Mark’s, died 1881, and of our dear mother Elizabeth Clarke, died 1862. This window is placed by their three surviving children, CPC, BPC, ATC.

In loving memory of Robert Shimmin, who died at Cronk Khenny, St Mark’s, 5 May 1901, aged 68 years. Robert John, eldest son of the above Robert Shimmin, who died at Broken Hill, near South Wales, Australia, 5 Aug 1898, aged 27 years.

In memory of Bridget (Betty) Quiggin, who departed this life 9 Oct 1875, aged 82 years. For 62 years a faithful servant of the late John Bridson of Ballavarvane in this parish.
