Rich Hinley to Ann Bridson

Articles of Marriage
Conenanted agreed and concluded upon
by and between Capt William Bridson
and Jane his wife of the parish of KK
Malew for and in behalf of their eldest
daughter and heiress Ann Bridson
on the one part and Richard Hingley
of the parish of KK Christ Rushen for
and in behalf of himself on the other
part are as foll.
Frirst. It is covenanted concluded and agreed upon
by and between the said contracting partys that
the said Richard Hingley and Ann Bridson shall
be joined together in the holy estate of Matrimony
within one month next sensuing the date hereof
God and holy Church permitting the same.
Secondly. It is covenanted concluded and agreed upon by
and between the said contracting partys and the 
said Capt William Bridson and Jane his wife do
herby unanimously give grant settle estate and
confirm upon them the said Richard Hingley and
Ann Bridson their said eldest daughter & heiress
the one half or moiety of their estates of Orristall
and Ballamitchell with their and every of their
appurtenances, when the young couple please to come
and cohabitt with us together with the half of our
whole cropp team and husbandry gears and the
other half of our said estate together with the other
half of our cropp,team and hubandry gears after
the decease of the longer liver of us the said Capt
Wm Bridson and Jane his said wife, always
provided that upon either of the decease of the
said Capt Wm Bridson or Jane his wife that us such
case the young couple are then imediately to possess
and enjoy a moiety of their estates together with the
cropp team and husbandry gears and the other half
after the decease of the survivor as afforesd, always
excluding and debarring us the sd Capt Wm Bridson and
Jane my wife from either alienating or mortgaging
or having any power so to do of any part or parcell
of the before granted and estated premises.
Thirdly. It is covenanted concluded and agreed upon by and
between the said contracting partys and the said Richd
Hingly in consideration of the preceding article doth
hereby bind and oblige himself to pay unto the said
Capt William Bridson and Jane his wife the sum of
thirty nine pounds currency of this isle within a year
and a day after intermarriage and it is further
covenanted anmd agreed upon between the said contracting
partys that the said Capt Wm Bridson and Jane his
wife are annually to pay unto the said young couple
the sum of fourty shillings untill and at such time
they the young couple come to cohabitt and posses &
enjoy the first moiety hereby granted and settled.
Fourthly. It is covenanted concluded and agreed upon
between the said contracting partys and the said Capt
Wm Bridson and Jane his wife do hereby reserve
to themselves the power and liberty of settling & estating
that parcell of land and houses called Cross of four ways
upon their second daughter Margrett Bridson, but upon
this condition and reserve that if the said Margt
Bridson shall not have lawfull issue to enjoy and
possess the same that then and in that case it shall not
be in the power of the sd Capt Wm Bridson Jane his wife
or Margrett the sd daughter to alienate or devise the said
premises from this young couple.
Lastly - For the true and faithfull performance hereof
and of all and singular the covenants conditions
and agreements herein before mentioned & expressed
all the said contracting partys do hereby bind and
oblige themselves their heirs exctrs admrs & assigns
in and under the penalty and forfeiture of one
thousand pound sterl to be levyed and paid
according to law In witness whereof they here
hereunto subscribed their names this 23d day
of March in the year of our Lord 1742
