Mathew Taubman to Elizabeth Norris

Article of Marriage consented
unto and agreed upon betwixt Mathew Taubman
on the one part and Elizabeth Norris on the other part as followeth
(First) It is agreed and concluded upon that the said young
couple Mathew and Elizabeth shall enter into the Holy Estate
of Matrimony at or before the First of November next ensuing
the date hereof God and Holy Church permitting.
(2dley) It is agreed and concluded upon by them that if it should
please God to call for the said Mathew Taubman at any time
whatsoever without issue by the said Elizabeth Norris to
enjoy the said lands, that then the said Mathew Taubman
doth engage himself to leave to his said intended wife all the
redeemed mortgaged lands that shall be at any time redeem=
ed by him belonging to the said estate with all the goods
moveable and immoveable that shall be upon the said lands
without the molestation of any person or persons, he only reserv=
ing his owne portion (vizt) what goods came by him or shall
otherwise remaine to be disposed off by him after what
manner he shall think most fit.
(3dly) It is further covenanted unto, agreed and concluded upon
by the said Elizabeth Norris the intended wife of the said
Mathew Taubman with the consent of the worshipfull Deemster
Moore her only suviving guardian that if it should please
God to call for her without issue to possess the said lands yt
then and in that case she leaves to her said untended husband
all her goods moveable and immoveable (excepting four 
pounds reserved to her owne disposal) to be possessed and
enjoyed by him at her death with all the mortgaged lands
that shall be redeemed by them, or the full value paid for the
said lands without the stop or hindrance of any person or
persons, and if it should otherwise please God to call for her
having only one child in its minority, and that her said
intended husband should at any time think fit to alter
his condition that then and in that case she only leaves to her
said husband Mathew Taubman all the goods moveable and
immoveable that came by himself to be enjoyed by him at
her death she still reserving for the said child all the reservations
made for herself in the second article all the mortgaged lands
that shall be redeemed with all the goods moveable and immoveable
that shall be upon the said estate And for the true and faithfull
performance of every article and clause herein contained both have
bound themselves in the penalty of two hundred pounds to be 
levied in nature of all fines within this Isle in witness whereof
they have herunto sett their hands and seals the 15th Octobr 1722
