Kirk Arbory - 1703 Composition Book

This is transcribed from the 1760 copy of the 1704 document (MM microfilm RC2)

The copy is on successive pages of a bound book - the folio numbers fo  presumably correspond to the pages of the original from which this 1760 copy was made.

Values of rent are given in Roman numerals (transcribed as Arabic) but the column values (indicated = ...) are in Arabic numerals. Entries were standardised - I have separated out the initial name of each entry for ease of reference. In a few places the microfilm copy was too dark to read the text.

 

John Stevenson

for three quarters of land called Balladoole of £7 6s 8d double rent compounded for in the year 1643 by Richard Stevenson, fine for this and two quarters in Kirk Malew £4 13s 4d double rent, together with £1 6s intacks in Kk Arbory and certain closes in the Myres called the Old Myres, which was formerly in the Lord's hands of 13s 4d rent was one hundred and twenty pounds, one life left in being is now to pay for the premises

for a quarter and halfe of land called Bemaccan of £1 6s 8d double rent (one halfe quarter thereof and a parcell called Martill more of 28s 4d double rent compounded for in the year 1643 by Thomas Norris) for for the same was £5. Lives expended & now to pay
