During the last few years of his life, Mr. Wheldon paid much attention to the Lichen Flora of Man. In con junction with his friend Mr. Hartley, of Ballasalla, he carefully explored the districts most suitable for Lichen growth, and collected a large number of species, which subsequently were secured by the National Museum of Wales.

L.M.B.C. Memoirs.

Liverpool Marine Biology Committee's publications. The Liverpool Marine Biology Committee was constituted in 1886 with the object of investigating the Fauna and Flora of the Irish Sea. In 1887 the Committee established the Puffin Island Biological Station on the north coast of Anglesey, and in 1892 moved to Port Erin, which proved to be a more com- modious and convenient station in the centre of the rich collect- ing grounds of the south end of the Isle of Man.
