My Great Great Grandfather, John MOORE married Margaret KEWLEY on 21st June 1791. Their son, Robert MOORE (born 1796)was married twice, to Jane KNEALE on 5th August 1816, and then after her early death to Margaret CHRISTIAN, daughter of WIlliam CHRISTIAN and Margaret CREER) in Braddan Church on 9th July 1839. They are recorded as living at Shaw's Brow, Douglas in the 1841 census. I have in my possession Robert MOORE'S Mariner's Ticket. Robert's son James MOORE married Mary Jane CLAGUE, daughter of Norris CLAGUE, shoemaker, on 20th April 1865. Their children were Frederick William (born 13/09/1874), Samuel Arthur (born 26/01/1879, Thomas Oscar (born 28/09/1881), James Ernest (born 04/04/1869) Isabella Bea (born 10/09/1871) and Herbert Edward - my Grandfather, born in 1886.
