It is very confusing and also the info I have is so incredibly limited as the side of the family this relates to would rather forget!!

There is also the variation between Criggal and Cringle which has cropped up a few times.

The line begins at John James Christian who married Jane Criggal. They went on to have seven children - one of which out of wedlock was Jane Criggal (this is why I get so confused!) This Jane Criggal went on to marry WELSH and they had a son. Now as far as I know she married Joseph Welsh and had Thomas but it could actually be that she married Thomas Welsh and had Joseph. The Joseph you found is DEFINITELY my line which makes me think she married Thomas Welsh.

IF that is the case Joseph (the son) married Sarah Barr and had my Gran - Mona Welsh.
