Brian's Confirmations index came from the Andreas parish register, so not RC. They were listed between the b/m/bs. I have copies up to 1861 - sorry Pat - ended a page short of your one. The film might be at your FHC?
It is well worth looking at these, because information is often given about the parents or grandparent, or about where the person was living when confirmed, and sometimes an occupation. One near your date was "brought up an orphan but grandmother in Dhowin"; another "father gone to America and left the mother"; John Fargher, 17, "was prepared but taken off to sea by the [can't read] on Friday"; William Kaneen, 16, "servt at BaGhaue had run off to Whitehaven".
