Re: www.kaighin.com back up
In Response To: Re: www.kaighin.com back up ()

Hi Pat,

I'm sorry, but Ann Jane's family is an orphan family in my database. I know her parents, but nothing before or after this generation. Her father may have come out of a large Kaighin family in Jurby, but I have run across too many discrepancies to be sure.

Here's what I have

John Kaighin married Margaret Christian 13 Feb 1847, Andreas.

John resided at Ballaugh, Isle of Man; Jurby, Isle of Man (1841); Intack, Ballaugh (1851); Lhane Meadow, Kirk Andreas (1867 - from Woods Atlas).

Occupation: Farmer of 15 acres (1851)

I have not found his burial or will information.

Margaret was the daughter of Jane Christian. Jane was 81 in the 1871 census and living at Andreas with three grandchildren, Ann J. Callow (born Lezayre), Richard Kaighin (born Jurby) and Margaret Watterson (born Port St. Mary).

From Ann Jane's marriage record: b. Thie Vane. Father Farmer. Confirmed at Andreas 21 Sep 1862 (R. Catholic?). Married 17 Nov 1865, Andreas.
