if he was a Methodist local preacher then use the collection of plans (see under methodism in Manxnotebook) in Manx museum - local preachers were associated with a circuit (ie a group of chapels) not an individual chapel - the plans will indicate the dates and places he preached - the museum now has most of the documents connected with both wesleyan and primitive methodism on the Island - these should indicate when he was accepted as a local preacher.
