Re: Jane & Joney Quay, married Skillicorns

William Quay and Joney Quay als Christian Lonan are distant ancestors of mine, through daughter Isabel. Isabel married Patrick Killip. Patrick is mentioned in Joney's 1708 will as "son in law Patrick Ki..." which I transcribed erroneously I see now as "Patrick [Kelly]". I just checked my photocopy of the original, and it's blackened on the right side. Could just as easily be "Killip".

I also have daughter Jony Quay as the wife of Thomas Skillicorn of Skinscoe Lonan. I don't know anything about daughter Jane, other than she's mentioned in her mother's will, and in her sister Catharine's will.

Other daughter Catharine I have as the wife of Nicholas Cowin. In her 1743 Will she mentions Sister Jane and a niece Jane Skillicorn. Thomas & Jony had a daughter Jane (the one who married William Lawson 1735 Lonan perhaps?), and the 1756 will of Jane Skillicorn als Quay also mentions a daughter Jane, so that's not a big help.

I'd be interested in comments from any others on this.

Joney's widower William Quay apparently lived to age 95, buried 23 Dec 1733 Lonan.
