Re: BMD - Brides Names
In Response To: Re: BMD - Brides Names ()

I am not sure whether this marriage (Islington) is the Maud N Cox sister of Gordon Hart Cox and the daughter of William Henry Cox, obviously a certificate would settle that. The only reason being is that on freebmd there is a death of a Maude M Robinson, Kensington in 1935 and the age is 38. The middle initial of this one is 'M' as opposed to 'N' and there is an 'e' on the end of Maude. I am thinking that this Maude M Robinson is the one from the Maud N Cox married to a Mr Robinson. There is also a birth of a Maud Minnie Cox in London 1898, which could be the birth of the one marrying Mr Robinson. All very complicated, I think I will have another search on the ManxBMD to see if there is a marriage for her there, failing that she could of returned to England and married there as you have suggested

I believe I have found a death for William Henry Cox on the IOM in 1910, and thanks to Mary who has told me about a simple cross in the churchyard it would appear that there was not much money around, so perhaps not a will. I am in the processing of obtaining a will of William Henry Cox's wife - Ellen/Helen Fanny Cox from London.
