Thank you for your very helpful post and the many useful leads it contains, most of which I had not considered. I will start to follow these up straight away.

The reson I am concentrating on the above mentioned Dora, is that I have had some written information indicating that there is a IOM connection, along with this; there appears to be no corrolating information on Stanley Darwell.

I am hoping this combination of factors, along with Dora fitting the 'profile' is indicative of her being the one of the persons I am tracing.

There is also the added element of; at that time there were regular steam ship ferries between Bangor, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
