The main ro(o)ney family was a Douglas based Roman catholic family - the Peel based family would appaer to originate with James Ronay who married Elizth Gelling (tho in most given as Gelly) who married 1838 (in RC register) - Elizth was a widow in 1881 (a laundress at 4 Station rd)
