Re: Kathleen Corrin
In Response To: Kathleen Corrin ()

Hi Brenda

Here's a possibility. There's a family living in Onchan in 1891:

Onchan district 4, page 19
Post Office Lane
John Carine head 37 general labourer b Rushen
Margaret wife 34 b Ireland
Mgt dau 11 b Rushen
James son 8 b Rushen
William son 8 b Rushen
Catherine 3 dau b Rushen

This same family is back in Rushen by 1901, at Lingague:

Rushen district 5, page 3
Margaret Carine wife 46 fisherman's wife b Ireland
Margaret A dau 21
Kathleen J dau 13
Thos E son 9
Alfred W son 6
children all born Rushen

Brian Lawson's birth index gives :

CARINE, Margaret Ann 4 May 1879 Rus 28 CARINE, John COMERFORD, Margaret

CARINE, James Henry 17 Apr 1882 Rus 75 CARINE, John Thomas COMERFORD, Margaret

CARINE, William Simon 6 Apr 1885 Rus 121 CARINE, John Thomas COMERFORD, Margaret

CARINE, Thomas Edward 21 Dec 1891 Rus 209 CARINE, John Thomas COMERFORD, Margaret

CARINE, Alfred Welsh 22 Jun 1894 Rus 237 CARINE, John Thomas COMERFORD, Margaret

There's no entry for Kathleen / Catherine, but she is a sibling, from the census entries.

Carine and Corrin were very similar names. Someone on this board will tell you how likely it is that she would change the name she used from Carine to Corrin.
