Paul Taggart
In Response To: Re: Kermod MI look ups please ()

Greetings...
I saw a question in one of the responses about Paul Taggart, maybe having a connection with Wm Taggart of Gibdale. It would not have been his son Wm. Paul was my ggggf. He had a son named Wm who remained on the farm, (Red Gap/Ballydoole) and eventually took it over, finally selling it in the 1880's, after most of his sons, my ggf John Frank Taggart included, came to the US in the late 1870's.
If I remember right, Paul did have a bro named Wm as well. Donna D. helped me confirm a number of things on our bunch of Taggart's, a couple of years ago, just before we visited Castletown for a week. My ggf, John Frank T. talked of being born at Red Gap (farm) and swimming in the pond at Poolvaash. Paul and his wife Elnr, at one point after retiring from the farm, lived above Cubbon's Butcher Shop on Arbory St. After she died, he moved in with one of his daughter's, and her husband (Stansbury I think) down at Knockrushen Farm. I think that is where he died at 99 before being buried at Malew's old cemetary.
Feel free to contact me if you need any specifics on our Taggart's there.
