Cecilia Kewley nee Cannell/Cain b1833

Robert Walter Clague b 1848, Ballacregga, Santon, was my great grandmother's first cousin. He married in 1892:

KEWLEY, Frances 15 May 1892 D bra 491b CLAGUE, Robert Walter

and in 1901 they were living in Middlesbrough, N Yorks with several children.

Frances Kewley appears in these 3 censuses prior to her marriage:

Her mother, Cecilia nee Cannell/Cain married James Kewley 1 June 1856 Braddan (extracted) using the surname Cannell. I can't find Cecilia or James in the 1861 censuses, but here's Cecilia in 1841 and 1851:

1841
Arbory district 1, page 2
Ballabeg
Daniel Garrett 80? Ag lab
Elizabeth Cain 34
Adelaide Smith 10
Cecilia Cannell 8

1851
Liverpool, Islington, district 1m, page 20

several other family and lodgers

Cecilia died in Sep Q 1909, Ashton-under-Lyne, aged 75, giving an approx birth year of 1834.

I couldn't find a baptism for Cecilia, so tried "Cain" as the 34 year old Elizabeth Cain in the 1841 Arbory household was the right age to be her mother. This baptism shows that Cecilia was illegitimate:

The only child I can find in the IGI for James Kewley and Cecilia Cannell is Lilly Kewley, in this intriguing entry:

Census records show that Lilly was born in England and baptised on the IOM. The 9 year gap between birth and baptism is strange.

The biggest mystery is---which James Kewley married Cecilia ? She was widowed by the 1871 census, and seems to have been left in comfortable circumstances, "interest from securities / annuitant / living on own means". Presumably James was pretty well off. Since I can't find Cecilia and James in the English and IOM 1861 censuses, I have no idea of his birth year or parish of birth, or even if he was Manx or born elsewhere.

I've looked at the James Kewleys in the 1841 and 1851 censuses, and I'm wondering about one living with his family at Renscault, Braddan.

Can anyone help me here, please?

I've copied this block of James Kewley burials and one of these could be the right one.

KEWLEY, James 38 Bra 23 Nov 1856
KEWLEY, James 69 Bra 11 Nov 1862
KEWLEY, James 85 Bra 4 Mar 1864
KEWLEY, James 49 Bra 6 Aug 1864
KEWLEY, James 45 Lez 21 Nov 1864
KEWLEY, James 45 Mar 18 Mar 1870

James Kewley wills which fit the same time frame are:

KEWLEY, James 1864 Dgs A 46 0106266
KEWLEY, James 1864 Ram A 96 0106266
KEWLEY, James 1868 Bra A 19 0106270
KEWLEY, James 1870 Ger A 67 0106272

although only the 1870 death would fit with James being the father of Frances Kewley b 1870 ( and I can't find any evidence that he was.)
