I have come across this baptism in Santon:

1817 Patience illegitimate d/o Anne Gick and ___ Jan 26th

This matches the birth year and place of a Patience Kermode I have been unable to find a baptism for, and as it doesn't seem to be a common first name I'm obviously hoping this is my girl.

I was also hoping to find a later marriage between Ann Gick and an obliging Mr Kermode, but that doesn't seem to be forthcoming, on the IGI at least. I can't see a burial or Will for an Ann Kermode nee Gick so it starts to look like either the father wasn't Kermode or if it was they didn't marry.

I wonder if there are any Gick researchers out there who have come across this Ann and her daughter Patience who can throw any light on the matter.
