Re: Clucas Family

I'm afraid I had to delete the original as it seemed to be the target of much spam - here are the replies
Hi Dave

It would seem likely that the Richard William Clucas on the 1891 Census married to Sarah Ann Clements is our man because the occupation and date / place of birth all match - it's just his father's name on the marriage certificate that is confusing.

If it is him then I wonder what happened to Sarah Ann? I can't find details of her on the 1901 Census or a record of her death before 1901 (which would make sense as Richard William's marital status on the 1901 Census was married not widowed).

Hi Derek and Dave
There was a birth of a Sarah a Clucas in 1897, wonder whether she was a daughter? There is a marriage for a Sarah A Clucas on the Lancs BMD site to a Thomas Gregory in 1917 at St Peters Liverpool. ref Liverpool 2122LP/109/65. There were at least four children, one named William.
Just a thought!
