It looks as if it is 'back to the drawing board' for me. I hadn't realised quite how difficult it would be to sort out the Philip Kewleys of the 1750's ish. His first child, Edward, was bpt 1786 in Onchan [the rest of his children were also baptised in Onchan].
I read the work you did with David Kewley at the museum about Kewleys of the blackquarter, Onchan.
It looks as though Stephen Kewley, son of William married Cathrine Skillicorn in Lonan 1751 and produced a son John, bpt 1753 at Lonan before Philip the next child was bpt in Onchan 1756, as were the rest of the family.
I'm still struggling to find confirmation that this is 'my' Philip.
Oh well. Thanks for the lead regarding the Ballafletcher Kewleys- it was an interesting read.
