In 1901 they were in Malvern Terrace Douglas all working in the shoe trade but by 1911 they had moved to Bolton Lancs.
It looks like John James died there 1912 and the mother also died there in 1917.
There was a marriage in Bolton between Joseph S. and Lillian G. Smith 1925.
The iomfhs.im research section shows some burials in Douglas Borough.
