It could have been a calendar problem, because of his death being in Feb.
Brian's burials have:
TAUBMAN, Matthew Arb 30 Dec 1771
TAUBMAN, Henry Arb 11 Feb 1772 (which could have been 1772/73).
Brian indexed them as written in the register (or as the FHS transcribed them).

Many IOM records were recorded using the Julian calendar years after they were supposed to use the New Style (Gregorian) one. In 1751 the year started on March 25th and was supposed to end on 31st Dec. but many clerks ignored this and continued recording will dates etc. as though the new year still didn't start until the end of March.
