Sylvia, that could well be one explanation. On all the other census' I have found him on it states Ireland as the place of birth(but I can't remember how many off the top of my head). The 1911 census is filled out by the indvidual, so he himself has put Isle of Man as the place of his birth and Ireland for his wife. The mystery continues!!
