Sorry Lois, but I was just using my open file of names when I asked for more about the Skillicorns. On going into the rest of my files , I found that I was given the info by a person from a genealogy site who had supposedly checked names and dates. . I found later that this was incorrect and marked the pages as such but had forgotten to mark everything. My apologies, and it seems we are still stuck without info on the parents of this John Skillicorn.
I have a feeling this person saw the will of Margaret Skillicorn als Fargher d 1820 and put her in as wife of Henry 1733 as I too saw this will but discounted it.
I have not found a link to put either of them as parents to John 1765.
John Skillicorn and Ann Killip were my gt gt grandparents.
I think I will leave my IOM ancestors for a time as it gets difficult to check with so many similar names.
