A million and one thanks to all those lovely people who helped me a while back in my attempt to trace my maternal Grandmother. However, despite all valiant attempts and having hardly any hair left on my head to pull out, I have got no further unfortunately so am trying a new tack! I KNOW her sister Molly lived in Douglas and I KNOW she was resident in 1973 as I paid her a visit (but cannot remember any details except she lived in a flat and was pretty oldish) and I am certain she will have definitely passed on by now (possibly in 70.s/80's). Here comes the problem (isnt there always one!) I know her name was Molly but this may have been short for Mary (?) and I BELIEVE....her maiden name was Hamilton and I BELIEVE her married name was Jervis or Jarvis and I BELIEVE... ahem... that her late husband was Ben. I KNOW she had a daughter Vera who definitely lived in Douglas because again I visited her home (no details sorry) and she had a big family of boys.
Thats it Im afraid. If there is a Hercule or a Miss Marples out there who can help me I will be so grateful.
