I am old enough to remember " Mungie" and his boat Iona, although I didn't know him personally.
The boat was an open boat about 20 to 25 feet long. He always went out alone to his lobster pots and to his fishing,and probably went out in bad weather when the rest of us would stay in the harbour.I beleive his boat was just a hobby and that his "proper job"was as a ganger with the Douglas Corporation Electricity Dept.
I remember that during one winter when I think he was ill and his boat was out of the water and up on the Tongue somone sawed through the prop shaft and stole the propeller. Whether he ever used the boat after that I don't know,
