Well it makes sense that they died young or they would have lived with their father and his new wife and their four daughters. His second wife died soon after giving birth (to 4th daughter) as well so he was clearly jinxed ... I know it was a sign of the times but it is still very sad when you come across it, isn't it? Would they have named a child who was born and died that quickly or possibly never lived? We do now but I suppose they did then? Many thanks for clearing this up I feel a bit (a lot) clearer now.
