I just wanted to post an addendum if you like to this thread that was back in the beginning of the year. We have since found that this is indeed my great great great grandfather Mathew Caley. His father was John Caley.
Is there a way to go back further or is this a dead end netwise and books may tell me more?
Are you able to give me some web sites to see what the towns looked like etc just to get a feel of the times. Any books written around this time 1820's in IOM. I know the Caley's lived in Douglas and Elinor Archibald was from Marown.
My dream is to find photos.
