Charles Bannan b. 1797, Andreas, moved to England in about 1828/9, his first wife died and he remarried a Jane Wilson, 1830, in Liverpool. They lived in Wallasey, Cheshire from 1830. He is mentioned in the 1841 and 1851 census for Wallasey, Cheshire, with his family. The surname changed from Bannan to Banner back to Bannan and then after his death in 1853 it changed to Banning and remains that to this day.
