I am a descendant of Ann Jane BANNAN, d/o Robert BANNAN & Elizabeth CORLETT, who married Daniel CALLOW in Maughold, 1863.

Thomas BANNAN (Snr) married twice, to Catherine LENNAGHAN & to Catherine CHRISTIAN in 1799, Andreas.

Robert (above) was the youngest son of the second marriage. I have always assumed that the BANNANs and LENNAGHANs originated in Ireland, where these names appear to originate. William BANNAN's christening in 1791, Kirk German, seems to be the earliest record of the name on the Isle, suggesting a link between Ireland & Peel.
