I am researching the Quayle-Hughes name/family on behalf of an older relative, George Quayle Hughes, of Liverpool.
I seem to have hit a bit of a brick wall when it comes to his Great Grandfather, William Quayle Hughes, born Douglas, IOM, 1851.
There are several Williams on the census but none quite seem to fit. I do know that by 1875 he was established in Liverpool,married to Mary Jane and had a son, also William Quayle Hughes.
If anyone could help me with advice on the next step I need to take or information about William and the reasons he may have left to come to Liverpool I would be truly grateful.
