Re: Help needed: 1850 Ohio census Manx-born; 5th g

Thanks, Sue.

I guess he could be; we had already "given" that John Radcliffe to Mary Ann (Kneen) Teare. However, since Mary Ann's John died in 1854 (“Radcliffe, John R., 1811 - 1854. Lakeview Cemetery Cleveland, Ohio.”) there is nothing more known about him other than the dates of his birth and death. Mary Ann is found in the 1860 census as a widow with her children.

John R. Radcliff (Richard - Jane Christian, Richard - Elizabeth Stevenson) was baptized at Andreas, March 3, 1811, and died in 1854. Buried Lakeview Cemetery. He married, in Cuyahoga County, April 15, 1841, Mary Ann Teare, daughter of Patrick and Ann (Kneen) Teare. Mary Ann was baptized at Andreas, May 20, 1822, and died February 16, 1890, age 67, “wife of John Radcliff, at her residence 135 Cedar”.

Mary Ann immigrated with her parents in 1826, on the ship Plutarch.

John and Mary Ann Radcliff lived in Cleveland.

1850 Cleveland census 1st ward # 1261: John R. Radcliff 39 car. & joiner IOM; Mary A. 28 IOM; Elizabeth 2 Ohio; William Kirk 1 Ohio.
