Think this may be one for Francis, I have looked long and hard at my Roney side and I have three Richard Roney`s - The Manx note book has several references to a Richard Roney - Grocer of Douglas. Seems to be quite an impressive man and as there are not that many on the Island I a sure there is something there... and I remember Nanna Skillan talking about her family being Grocers... any ideas?
