Could anyone tell me if there is a record of Isle of Man Merchant seamen. My husband's grandfather and great grandfather were both merchant seamen from the Isle of Man but as yet have been unable to trace them. I was wondering if I would be able to obtian more information fom their records. Al I know is that Grt Grandfather was John Carine and Grandfather was either John Alfred Carine or alfred John Carine (depending on which marriage or childs birth certificate you look at!). His age also differs by over five years so that complicates matters too. any ideas would be appreciated. Many thanks Regards Diane
