I am doing some research on a branch of the Carswell family. It may be significant that in 1851 John Carswell married Isabella Saul in Maryport.
One of their sons was Robert and another, William born 1862 , had a daughter called Isabella Saul Carswell. Seems family names are kept in this family.
Any information I can incorporate in my reasearch would be appreciated.
