all lawyers on the IoM are termed advocates - they would be members of the Manx Bar records of which are available on Manxnotebook - look under people law etc for list - they would also be in the various directories on my site. It is possible that some long established law firms maight go back to mid 19th C but all court records of this period should be available via Manx museum
