His name appears to have been either Michael or James and there are many variations to the spelling of LYNCHEY.
There is a dissenters Baptism in 1826 with the father named as Michael, a daughter my GG grandmother on her death certificate in Sydney 1901 has his name recorded as James LYNCH army officer although of course she did not provide the registrar with the information.
His wife was transported after a trial at Castle R8ushen in 1833 and she is stated as a widow born in County Down.
A son was left behind, appaerntly over 8 years the limit for a son to accompany his mother. This son may have been Andrew LYNCHEY who became a Marine Store owner in Douglas.
