Philip Quilliam (born 1840, Isle of Mann) is my great great great grandfather. All I know about him is that his father died at a young age and his mother remarried a Young after they emigrated to Tasmania. There are many descendents on this Island. Their eldest daughter, Annie was my great great grandmother, and my grandfather tells me of when she was very old and he was brought as a child to meet him and she felt his fingers and found that some of them were slightly bent sideways and she said, "Ah, yes, this one is a Quilliam!"
According to a refernce in old family records, we are descended from Captain John, but I can't find a connection and would be interested if you can help me.
