This is probably not very useful but I have an Elizabeth Waddell in my (direct line) Manx family -sometimes written as Waddle, Wattle, etc - her family came over from Ireland and before that Scotland - information still sketchy.
Also on my English side I have a Decimus Powney marrying into the family - he came from a very big family (notwithstanding his own name of Decimus which was no accident) but they were in and around Bromham in Wiltshire in the 19th century.
