As Frances pointed out, ages in burial registers and censuses can be out by more than a year or so for many reasons.

I've just moved house so don't have my transcripts to hand but I have the burial age as 45 and the date as 5 July.

This puts his year of birth as 1823 plus/minus which agrees with the 1851 census age.
