I thankyou for all that information,The Martha Oates I mentioned previously was born in Kirk German 1841, and married James Callister. They had Martha born 1861,Emily born 1863 and William born 1865,it was their daughter Emily who married William Oates in Cumberland. Different connection to William Oates born January 1800,who went on to marry Mary Beck which is my family tree.
Their son James married Jane Quayle(Kirk Michael)
I will try and contact jlawrence direct as he could come down this Oates tree.
